Breaking Glass With Sound

“If you match the pitch of tone generator to the resonant frequency of the glass the vibrating air will start the glass vibrating too.  If you do this with sufficient volume, the glass will try to move in its vibration farther and faster than the material in the glass is able to move, and the glass will break under the strain.”

Japanese Burger King – “Sound Spot”

Burger King, Japan have installed a “Sound Booth” for their customers. You can now hook up your IPod and listen to your favorite tunes while eating your lunch.

They are using the “Focus Point” speaker system manufactured by soundtube.com.
